Pharisees.

Ever hear the old story about the guy who went to a new church for the first time? He sang loudly and laughed out loud. During the time of greeting he hugged and slapped people on the back, and when the congregation read from the bulletin he read loudly as if he meant every word. Finally, someone went and told him this was inappropriate behavior and asked him to leave. As he sat outside on the steps of the church, Jesus came up to him and said, "It's ok, Buddy, I've been trying to get in for years."
Too often we're to busy being religious that we forget to invite Jesus to church. To many people today He has merely become a plastic figurine, a portrait hanging on the wall, or an advertisement. He is far more than this. Jesus is the embodiment of the gospel of God. He's the reason we're here. When we commit ourselves to the idea that Jesus is infinitely more than we understand, we'll receive a gift from God– understanding.

Jesus: Ultimate Fulfillment

Ok, So a disclaimer before i start.
:My life is great right now.

Here we go. So I asked myself a question today.
If everything was taken away from me would I still be happy?
Answer: No
Would I still have Joy?
Answer: Yes

Although I may not always agree with God, I understand his plan is the only plan worth trying, because it will succeed. So i may be sad because of my circumstances, but i will still rejoice. Jesus is on the throne!!!!!!!!!!
I guess i could go on and on about this but i'll just leave it at that.

Ok, maybe one more thing.
Paul wrote this in a prison cell: Philippians 4:4, Rejoice in the Lord always, I say it again, Rejoice!

I love you guys,
I love Jesus a whole lot more.

Jesus.

It has been awhile my friends. Since i know about a billion people read this and check everyday to see if i have posted something, even though it has been almost three months..

But if i can't write for others, then why not for Jesus.

I think something I have learned this week is that Jesus is God. Yes, I know i have known that since i can remember, but really. Think about it. The God who created you, died for you, and now he lives in you. So why don't we live for Him. IN EVERYTHING.

On my plane ride home i had this epiphany that i just needed to hand over everything to God. EVERYTHING. It may seem hard at first, but everything in your life can be so much more satisfying if you give it to Him. But you have to trust that He knows best whether to give it back or to take it away.

I know for me, it felt great to do that with my relationship with my girlfriend. We prayed together that God would be the center and that His will would be above all else. Talk about a reliever. We both know how much we love each other, but we want it to be a love that God has given us, not something we try to form on our own, so that is exactly what we will be pursuing. A relationship that has God's Love abounding in it and He himself at the center. AMEN!

Today at small group we were challenged to memorize this verse:
"In the same way, any of you who does not give up everything he has can not be my disciple"-Jesus Christ(found in Luke 14:33)

So here is the Question..
Will you? Will you give it all up just so you can serve Him?
It's the best decision you could possibly make.

Goodnight,

Zach.

The Center

Alert Alert!!

Jesus does not want to be at the top of our list of values... He wants to be the center of everything. That is why we have the Holy Spirit.

Please please please don't always try to make God the biggest part of your life, you will fail.
Just give him your life, it will be the best decision ever.

God Bless.

Interesting...

It is so weird that people... Like thousands upon thousands have blogs, write in them, pour out their feelings, and so on, and then expect the world to read them.
Its really quite funny. I don't know why i just thought of it, but seriously, few will relate, if even care about what you write.
But here is the kicker, Blogs are great. They let you vent, get things off your chest and let everyone know whats up. So they are good.
Hmmm. Did you just waste a couple minutes of your life? Probably.
So i guess I will make it worthwhile.
Jesus Is Lord!
Good day.

Prayer

On Saturday morning i woke up and decided to just pray. Now i write down my prayers just so I can look back on them and see what God has done.(Something I encourage everyone should do). I reread that one today and it really just stuck with me. We need a heart for God. You notice that all that is after that is a period. If we Love God with everything, all else will fall into place. Just like when Jesus said to Love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength and love your neighbor as yourself. Guys thats all we need to do. Imagine what our world would be like with those two things at the forefront of everyone's minds. Just imagine. How amazing it would be if we all did these two simple things.
Now for my prayer. I was going to write it all on here, but didn't feel the need. Here is one sentence from it. May it stick in your minds.
"Let me be set-apart, sanctified, by You, from this world."
Not of this world has become such a seen but not paid attention to symbol. But its so huge.
So in conclusion, pray that you would be able to die to yourself and be sanctified.
Live for Jesus.

So this is the New Year

Hello Folks.
After a good 7 days of snowboarding in a row, I am pumped. It has been so much fun.
The 4 days of School that followed were definitely a mood killer though.
But Tuesday and Wednesday nights made up for all the boredom of school.

Tuesday night, at The small group i go to we were planning on starting the book of Acts for the new year. After Worship we started to pray, and we didn't stop for a little over an hour later. It was amazing to see the way the spirit of God moved. We prayed for a revival like no one has ever seen before would take place in Camarillo. That people would turn to Jesus and just fall in Love with Him like the guys in that room had. We also prayed for the boldness, strength and courage that it will take for the Christians here to have to do this. Its going to be insane, but God ordained, so i am stoked. Please keep that in your prayers, that Revival would be known here, and that God would work mighty miracles.

Now for Wednesday. At Switch on Wednesday, our youth pastor, Seth, wanted to start off the year differently, setting a pace for the year to come... A night of worship.
We opened with three songs which i kind of just sat through, off in my ow world. But then Seth came up and started to tell us of the tradition that they have at his old church. At the beginning of the year each person would get a card with a bible verse or passage on it. This verse would be just another testimony on what God has or will do in our own lives. Seth encouraged us to read it monthly or weekly or even daily, and just meditate on it. Basically just watch and see how God is going to work in our lives through that verse, something totally prophetic. The verse i pulled was Psalm 1:1-3. Oh man how it spoke to me from the get go.
1 Blessed is the man
who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked
or stand in the way of sinners
or sit in the seat of mockers.

2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
and on his law he meditates day and night.

3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither.
Whatever he does prospers.

This passage in every way had meaning in my life, something i'll save for another time. But for now i encourage you to read it, meditate on it, then pray. Pray to a God that is Always Listening.

God Bless,

Zach
